Equifax may owe you money: how can you claim it?

The Equifax data breach in September 2017 was one of the most extensive and damaging breaches of privacy in the history of digital transacting, exposing the personal information of 147 million people. Now, Equifax has agreed to a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission; the $700 million settlement includes $425 million to assist consumers who were victims of the breach. Read more »

Impax Asset Management and sustainability nonprofit Ceres hosted “Climate Investments and Corporate Sustainability Innovations” on July 16, a gathering of leaders from the investment, business, and nonprofit communities to dialogue about investments and innovations. Arnerich Massena’s I AM Learning Partnership Girls’ Club members come back to work at summer school more than a decade later!

Kara Moten and Khadija Bruce are assistant coordinators for Arnerich Massena’s I AM Learning Partnership’s Summer School program this year, but they aren’t just any teachers. Both were part of the I AM Learning Partnership programs back in 2006! They’ve now become educators, and have returned to Irvington Elementary to work with Arnerich Massena community service coordinator Kate DeGraw in a place that they say feels like home. Read more »

Legislative Updates: Second Quarter 2019


In late April, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) published a report on early withdrawals from retirement plans and IRAs. The report examined and reported on the number and amount of early withdrawals, factors leading up to them, and strategies and policies to limit early withdrawals. Examining individuals in their prime working years (ages 25 to 55), the GAO found that individuals withdrew at least $69 billion of retirement savings, resulting in those plan participants and IRA owners paying more than $6 billion in tax penalties associated with these withdrawals.
