April 30th through May 3rd marked the 2017 Annual WACUBO conference, in which college and university business officers gathered in Seattle, WA for professional development, networking, and exploring issues and trends in higher education. Arnerich Massena’s Terri Schwartz and Ryland Moore attended WACUBO to speak to higher education business professionals and learn more about the issues and challenges they face.
The conference’s keynote featured Patrick Lencioni, the New York Times best-selling author of The Advantage, The Five Dysfunctions of Teams, and Death by Meetings. He addressed the topic of organizational health as a crucial competitive edge in a discussion focused on how minimal politics and confusion, high degrees of morale and productivity, and low turnover cultivate health in an organization and thus an edge over competitors. Other sessions focused on topics like maximizing the effectiveness of employee benefits, designing a winning culture, and strategies for capital finance.
