Arnerich Massena’s FOOD FIGHT summer camp is underway, and the students are getting a taste of Portland’s food offerings. Last week, the campers were visited daily by Portland-area chefs, each of whom taught the kids how to make a healthy meal, guiding them through the steps to create their own culinary delights.
The week went like this:
Monday: Scott Dolich from Bent Brick/Park Kitchen taught homemade ramen soup
Tuesday: Jason French from Ned Ludd showed how to make zucchini pancakes
Wednesday: Brooke Weston from Whole Foods Market Fremont helped campers learn to make fried rice
Thursday: Bryan Steelman and Chef Julian from Por Que No Tacqueria taught kids to make tortillas from scratch, and then quesadillas
Friday: Ron Baker from Chefstable Catering showed campers how to make crepes
