Jake O’Shaughnessy, Arnerich Massena advisor, has been invited to speak at the 2014 NAGDCA Annual Conference, to be held in San Antonio, Texas in September. Jake is a veteran NAGDCA speaker, having presented on topics ranging from fiduciary risks to Roth conversions at past conferences.
At this year’s conference, Jake will join a panel entitled “Specialist Referrals – Using an Independent Consulting Firm to Assess and Manage Risk.” The discussion will center on how defined contribution plan sponsors can mitigate risk by hiring consulting specialists to assist in functions like plan design, investment policy statement development, asset allocation, investment manager selection, and fee negotiation. The panel will focus on the issues plan sponsors face in hiring and retaining an independent consulting firm.
NAGDCA’s 2014 conference is themed, “Navigating the Waters Toward Retirement Readiness,” and is designed to help government defined contribution plan sponsors do just that. David Laibson, professor of economics at Harvard and member of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), will keynote the event.
