The Portland Business Alliance’s annual meeting, held May 19, put the spotlight on keynote speaker Tamara Lundgren, President and CEO of Schnitzer Steel Industries. Ms. Lundgren led a fascinating discussion on international trade, advocating for greater trade freedom as a route to job creation in Oregon. The event was attended by more than 1,000 community and business leaders around Portland. Also in attendance were a number of local and regional leaders in business and government including Governor Kate Brown; Kerry Tymchuk, Executive Director of the Oregon Historical Society (who emceed the event); and Nanette Reid, Senior Vice President of U.S. Bank, the lead sponsor.
The Portland Business Alliance is Greater Portland’s Chamber of Commerce and acts as the voice of business in the region. For more information about the organization, visit www.portlandalliance.com.
