Bryan P. Shipley, CFA, CAIA

Bryan Shipley values the independent, diligent, and forward-looking perspective that are the underpinnings of a truly strong investment process. He has spent the last 18 years helping to craft Arnerich Massena’s investment philosophy and method around these fundamentals, building a renowned research team and proprietary due diligence process.

Co-CEO alongside Reegan Rae, CPWA®, Bryan focuses on building and sustaining the firm’s long-term investment and business strategy, providing thought leadership for the firm. As Chief Investment Officer, he oversees the firm’s investment strategy, investment guidelines and policies, product selection, and model portfolio construction, leading the firm’s research team to establish Arnerich Massena’s current portfolio positioning and identifying future investment opportunities. Bryan also works directly with clients as a Senior Investment Advisor, developing and executing client investment programs and managing client portfolios.

Bryan’s experience in the financial industry spans more than 20 years, during which he served at Wurts & Associates (now Verus), conducting traditional and alternative investment manager research and due diligence, asset allocation modeling, performance evaluation and attribution reporting, and quarterly market analysis.

Bryan holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in finance from Western Washington University. He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Portland. He also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.

Bryan is a CEO Cohort member of B Local PDX, a group of Certified B Corporations® from Oregon & Southwest Washington working to foster and deepen connections among organizations in the region who share a purpose and passion for using business as a force for good. Bryan serves as an Investment Committee member for the Gray Family Foundation.

Bryan takes a deeply thoughtful approach to investing, and is passionate about finding the avenues and opportunities that come only out of persistent, thorough, and meticulous research. He understands both the broader economic landscape and the specific qualities and approaches that drive long-term success for investment managers, which in turn make it possible for Arnerich Massena clients to realize their aspirations.
