Principal, Executive Administrator of Community Service
Christine Arnerich serves as special consultant to the firm in a variety of areas. As executive administrator of the firm's community outreach programs, she is responsible for supervising the programs. Other responsibilities include supervision of maintenance and capital improvements to Arnerich Massena facilities, consultant on promotional materials and special functions, and working closely with senior management. Ms. Arnerich is a shareholder of Arnerich Massena, Inc. and sits on the Board of Directors.
Ms. Arnerich graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts. Christine Arnerich has also been an I AM Learning Partner for more than 19 years. I AM Learning Partners volunteer as mentors, working directly with children in Arnerich Massena’s I AM Learning Partnership math, literacy, enrichment, and summer camp programs at a local elementary school.
Community Service Coordinator
Kate DeGraw coordinates Arnerich Massena's community service programs. She is responsible for training employee volunteers, planning and implementing the curriculum, acting as liaison between students and employees, and monitoring program progress. She works hands-on with Portland Public Schools and students to direct such programs as the Before-School Mentoring programs, Math and Science Club, Girls' Club, and the Summer Camp Programs. Ms. DeGraw joined Arnerich Massena in 1994.
Ms. DeGraw has been working with children since 1986, serving as a teacher in a variety of programs. She studied early childhood education at the Montessori International Training Center and earned a Montessori International AMI Primary degree.
Assistant Community Service Coordinator
As assistant director of Community Service, Elly Kendig assists in the organization and management of Arnerich Massena's community service programs, including school literacy support, before- and after-school programs, and summer camps. Ms. Kendig is responsible for administrative support of all the programs, as well as working directly with students.
Ms. Kendig brings more than 15 years of experience working with children. Prior to joining Arnerich Massena in 2017, she served as a teacher for Portland Public Schools, including teaching at Irvington Elementary School. She has also worked with Big Brother Big Sister and the SMART program.
Elly Kendig earned her Masters of Education from Portland State University. She holds literacy certifications in best practices in literacy, serving and supporting students with dyslexia, and literacy intervention strategies.
