Urban Gleaners shares food with 8,000 indi-
viduals every week at 42 Free Food Markets
in Multnomah and Washington counties.
Since our founding in 2006, we have rescued
over 11 million pounds of food and diverted
over 800,000 pounds of methane from our
atmosphere.
Collecting and redistributing food is one of
the simplest and most effective ways to com-
bat both hunger and climate change.
We are raising funds to advance our goals
around food rescue, climate change mitiga-
tion, and hunger relief in 2024 by establishing
more Free Food Markets to reach families
in high-need areas, and expanding our new
Farm Gleaning Program where we harvest
fresh produce directly from local farms
to share with our community.
