Arnerich Massena launched its Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee in 2017 to foster a culture that inspires and nurtures the human spirit in all its diverse manifestations; the committee was tasked with crafting internal policies and procedures to support these efforts and generating ideas for becoming a force for good externally as well, particularly in the financial services industry. Some of the firm’s DEI activities over the past few years include:

• Bringing in outside professionals to provide firm-wide training and facilitate conversations among employees
• Building a robust library of educational materials
• Building an internal network channel for sharing recommendations for films, books, recipes, and cultural experiences
• Closing the office to honor Juneteenth
• Adding a DEI section to our investment manager due diligence questionnaire
• Hosting a webinar and podcast on DEI in the investment industry to share information
• Publishing a white paper about DEI in the investment industry

The financial services industry is not known for its diversity.
