Arnerich Massena Awarded Recognition for “Best CSR Engagement - Americas” by Wealth for Good Awards

07/06/2023

Arnerich Massena is honored to be recognized by the global WealthBriefing Wealth for Good Awards in the category of “Best CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Engagement – Americas.” Each of the Wealth for Good Award categories is highly competitive and subject to a rigorous process before the ultimate winner is selected by the judges, and we are proud to be named among this elite group of companies working to do good around the globe.

Arnerich Massena was awarded based largely on the firm’s work as a sponsor of and partner to non-profit Rock the Street, Wall Street (RTSWS), which provides investment and financial literacy education to high school girls in order to spark their interest in financial services careers. Many girls opt out of math at an early age, forgoing math-oriented careers because they lack role models in the real world. RTSWS connects girls with female finance professionals who teach investing and budgeting and provide career mentorship. Arnerich Massena was the first Oregon sponsor of the program, and sent a group of volunteers to Portland’s Grant High School to deliver the RTSWS financial literacy program to a diverse group of highly engaged, interested girls. Over the course of the 2022-23 school year, the volunteers presented a detailed curriculum, hosted a field trip in the company’s office for the students, and provided professional development and career mentorship.

“Community service and support are fundamental to our philosophy, vision, and culture. We are dedicated to giving back, and we are involved in a variety of ways, from supporting local non-profits to helping to fundraise for certain projects to sponsoring scholarships,” says Reegan Rae, CPWA®, Co-CEO and Managing Principal. “But Rock the Street, Wall Street has been hands-down my favorite program that we’ve been part of. The students sent thank-you notes following the field trip to express their gratitude and excitement at being able to experience a real-world professional setting and importantly, seeing women in the types of roles that interest them. I know we are inspiring them, but they definitely inspire us too!”

Co-CEO and Chief Investment Officer Bryan Shipley, CFA, CAIA, adds, “Arnerich Massena is dedicated to investing in the next generation of investors, and in particular to helping open the door to more girls and women in investing and financial services. We believe the industry and its clients are better served by having the broader perspective that comes from increased diversity. We have been very excited to join the RTSWS community and help extend the work they do to bring financial literacy and education to high school girls.”

The company’s first year in this program has been a tremendous success, with most of the firm participating in the field trip enthusiastically, and a team of committed volunteers serving as mentors and educators to Grant High School’s student cohort. We are excited to participate again next year!
