Being intentional is more than a statement for us at Arnerich Massena. We focus on helping investors find investments that are in line with their values and principles because we think it’s important to be aligned with the greatest good. And we believe sustainable governance is important to building successful business practices. We are very pleased to be honored for the second year in a row as one of Oregon Business Magazine’s 100 Best Green Workplaces in Oregon. All the top 100 organizations were honored at an event on June 1 featuring a Corporate Social Responsibility Panel along with the awards celebration.

The list celebrates employers who set the standards for sustainability, acting as leaders and innovators in transforming workplace norms and practices. The 100 Best Green Workplaces are determined by anonymous employee surveys and an independent assessment of the employers’ sustainability practices.

Arnerich Massena’s JEDIS (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Sustainability) Committee is tasked with the ongoing evaluation of the company’s processes and procedures as they relate to the work environment and practices. Below are some of the specific actions we’ve taken that we think are integral to being a green workplace:

• Arnerich Massena is a Certified B Corporation®, one of over 6,000 global companies dedicated to using business as a force for good. Part of being a B Corp™ is the requirement to become an officially designated benefit corporation, establishing our commitment to creating a positive impact on society and the environment.
• Arnerich Massena is a signatory to the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment, by which we commit to adhering to a set of investment principles designed to contribute to building a more sustainable global financial system.
• We work in a silver LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) building, rated for using sustainable materials, water efficiency, energy star rating, and waste management.
• Arnerich Massena’s office is in the Lloyd District of Portland, which has been named one of only four certified EcoDistricts in the world, with the district having purposefully committed to making equity, resilience, and climate protection part of every decision.
• Arnerich Massena employees are devoted recyclers, and we have maximized our ability to recycle and compost, including working with specialist recyclers to recycle unusual materials. We use paperless processes when possible, and recycled paper products when not.
• We are conscious of the vendors we work with, seeking out local and sustainable companies to do business with.
