Arnerich Massena Sponsors the University of Oregon Portland Internship Experience

05/10/2021

The University of Oregon offers a Portland Internship Experience, which is intended to provide interested students with professional experience while adding value to a small business, non-profit, civic, or educational organization in Oregon. Selected participants earn a $5,000 stipend while working over the summer — June to September — up to 40 hours per week.

The 2021 theme for the internship is “Student Recovery Corps,” and focuses on areas related to social justice, community building, racial equity, and economic recovery. The hope is that participating students will build career skills and connections while participating in outreach and impact activities. After more than 80 organizations applied, and with nearly 400 students showing interest in the program, the University has selected 30 intern students who will be working at 29 sites this summer. John McGrath, U of O Director of Development, says, “We feel great with the sites and students having found their matches and look forward to some excellent work being done in our community this summer.” Sites include Boost Oregon, Ecotrust, Literary Arts, Pueblo Unido PDX, PDX Black Excellence, and more; view the complete list here.

Arnerich Massena is proud and excited to participate in this offering, contributing to help fund this valuable opportunity for students to develop professionally while being part of making a social impact.
