“It’s hard to argue with its unmistakable opening, drum beats and soothing rhythm that has stood the test of time. Honestly, I’m not entirely sure what the lyrics actually mean, but the song has always lifted my spirits and what I hear is a story of perseverance. My youngest son is a huge fan of elephants and by default Africa, so whenever he gets his chance to choose what song our family listens to, ‘Africa’ is his choice — I can’t
complain, it certainly beats ‘Baby Shark.’”
