What are opportunity zones and how can I invest in them?

The Tax Cuts & Jobs Act is encouraging investors to increase economic development in underserved areas through new tax incentives. With the passing of the Act in December 2017, a new section of the tax code was created that identifies investment vehicles called “Opportunity Funds” for those investing in private markets in select identified areas called “Opportunity Zones.” In this article, investment advisor Ryland Moore discusses the investment and tax benefits of these new vehicles.
