We are pleased to announce that InvestmentNews has recognized Arnerich Massena Co-CEO Reegan Rae, CPWA® as a 2023 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion See it, Be it Role Model award winner. They have also named Arnerich Massena as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Diversity Champion Award finalist. Winners will be celebrated at an awards ceremony on May 10 in New York. The InvestmentNews editorial staff carefully considered each nomination and identified outstanding corporate practices, individual accomplishments, and true advances that show the way toward elevating the presence and success of under-represented communities in the financial advisory and investment spheres. These qualitative awards are grounded in measurable results.
For the fifth year, InvestmentNews celebrates genuine, measurable advances in diversity, equity, and inclusion in the financial advisory and investing industries. Because diversity among clients, industry professionals, and staff is fundamental to sustained industry growth and success, InvestmentNews highlights people and practices that others can emulate to accelerate their own progress with diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Reegan Rae, CPWA®, Co-CEO and Managing Principal, has been named a See It, Be It Role Model, an award which recognizes individuals in business who exemplify success and can inspire others from diverse backgrounds to embrace the profession. “There is nobody who is more deserving of this recognition,” says firm Chief Operating Officer Shelly Kapoor. “Reegan is committed to continuing Arnerich Massena’s long-standing dedication to encouraging, supporting, and elevating diversity in the financial services industry. As the firm’s first female chief executive, she has built a culture of inclusion — including a leadership team that is forty percent female — and launched the company’s sponsorship of Rock the Street, Wall Street, a non-profit organization that provides financial and investment education to high school girls to spark their interest in careers in finance.” Reegan will be honored with the other winners at the event on May 10.
Arnerich Massena has also been named as a finalist in the firm category of Diversity Champion. This award honors companies that have internal programs to increase diversity or external campaigns to improve financial literacy among diverse groups in the financial advice business. Co-CEO Reegan Rae, CPWA® remarks, “We’re very pleased to be recognized for our efforts in this area. Our JEDIS (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Sustainability) Committee has done tremendous work building internal policies and programs, creating a resource library, and bringing in outside experts to provide education. We are perhaps most proud of our external efforts; this year, Arnerich Massena became the first Oregon sponsor of Rock the Street, Wall Street, and we’ve had a wonderful time working with girls from Grant High School. We spent the fall teaching investment and financial literacy, and hosted the girls in a field trip to our office, and now for spring term, we’re focused on mentorship and professional development. I can think of no better way to bring increased diversity to the industry!”
Bryan Shipley, CFA, CAIA, Co-CEO and Chief Investment Officer adds, “We believe forward progress will be driven by setting an example and through sharing and advocacy. We work to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion into our investment process as well. Being at the forefront, we’ve communicated our ideas and processes through webinars, white papers, and podcasts to help share best practices with industry partners.” Arnerich Massena will be recognized at the May 10 event, where final winners of the award will be announced.
