For B Corp™ Month in March 2023, the B Corp™ community is inviting B Corps™ to showcase what’s possible when businesses think beyond profit, go beyond the expected, and prove beyond doubt that there’s a better way to do business. Together, as a community, we can go beyond business as usual to build a better world.

What is a B Corp™ and why is it important?

B Corps™ are part of a global movement dedicated to using business as a force for good. Certified B Corporations® have been certified through a rigorous third-party process to ensure they meet the highest standards of social and environmental impact, and are leaders in a movement to create an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. There are almost 6,000 B Corps™ in 86 countries! B Corporations™ make a legal commitment by changing their corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders.

Why did Arnerich Massena join the B Corp™ community?

Arnerich Massena first became a B Corp™ in 2020 as part of our commitment to our community. With our mission being to build lasting legacies in service of a greater good, joining the B Corp™ movement was a way not only to declare our commitment, but also to join forces with other organizations and leverage our ability to do good. As part of the global movement and as members of Oregon’s B Local PDX group, we are able to share best practice and ideas, build partnerships, and elevate the ethos of B Corporations®.

How does Arnerich Massena Go Beyond?

We go beyond for our clients: Clients are not just clients; they are family. Our job is to understand our clients’ goals, concerns, values, priorities, worries, and serve as partner and advocate to help them build their lasting legacies.

We go beyond in our community: Giving back is part of our ethos, and we are committed to donating to a number of worthy causes, but we are also hands-on! Arnerich Massena is the first Oregon sponsor of Rock the Street, Wall Street, a non-profit that provides financial and investment literacy education to high school girls to spark their interest in careers in finance. A team of Arnerich Massena volunteers works with a group of high school girls at Grant High School to provide education, mentorship, and professional development. We are dedicated to investing in the next generation of investors!

We go beyond greenwashing: A growing demand for ESG and impact-related investments has resulted in a broad landscape of approaches based on a wide variety of metrics, some more ESG than others and some with thin substantiation for the claim. Our intentional investing program is based on fundamental principles of aligning investor portfolios with their values, not on veiled or obscure metrics.
