Like other firms, Arnerich Massena has traveled through various stages of awareness and understanding of the social challenges facing the world. The company launched a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee in 2017 and made a dedicated effort to learn more about how we could be part of the solution. Now, we are excited to share our efforts, particularly in how we have integrated DEI principles into our manager research process. Our new white paper, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Investing outlines this process, and illustrates how we believe this can contribute toward building awareness and driving change in the industry.
“There is an unfortunate reality that needs to be faced,” the paper notes, “the financial services industry lags woefully behind other industries in terms of bringing diversity into its workforce and consciously applying equity and inclusion principles into governance.” In the paper and webinar presentation excerpt, we share some startling statistics about the current state. By turning our attention to DEI and building DEI into our process, we hope to elevate the investment and financial services industry as a whole.
“Arnerich Massena has truly been a trailblazer in this industry since our founding in 1991. This November, we are celebrating our 30th anniversary and proud to report that building diverse teams is still very much part of our DNA.” Notes Co-CEO Reegan Rae, CWPA®. “As intentional investors, we want to be very thoughtful and deliberate about incorporating DEI into our manager research and due diligence process,” remarks Bryan Shipley, CFA, CAIA, Co-CEO and Chief Investment Officer. “These are important factors to take into consideration when evaluating how our managers operate and understanding their alignment with our clients’ values and objectives. We’re really pleased to be at the forefront of the industry in terms of recognizing the importance of DEI as a key component of investment selection, and crafting practices to incorporate it into our research.”
