On April 22, 2021, we celebrate Earth Day, a global day of action in which we turn our attention to the environmental challenges (which also manifest as social challenges) that impact everyone on the planet. The 51-year Earth Day legacy has counted billions of participants and spawned actions from tree planting to volunteer cleanup efforts, encouraging everyone to participate in taking small actions that add up to big change in the world we share.

For Arnerich Massena, environmental issues are central to our mission and philosophy. We started exploring sustainable investing in 2007, recognizing that the scope of the environmental challenges we face globally will require private capital to be part of the long-term solution.

Since that time, we have helped our clients invest in opportunities like:

• In 2020, we became a Certified B Corporation®, committing to using business as a force for good.
• Last year, Arnerich Massena was named one of Oregon’s Healthiest Employers by The Portland Business Journal.
• Arnerich Massena became a signatory of the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment in 2020, institutional investors who have signed on to an aspirational set of investment principles that help better align investors with broader societal objectives.
• Arnerich Massena also joined the Intentional Endowments Network, which supports higher education institutions and other non-profits to implement investment strategies that create an equitable and regenerative economy.
